How to read the confidence label
Every forecast is labeled so a confirmed change is never presented like a guess:
Confirmed change already happened, verified.
Observable trend measurable and underway.
Reasonable forecast supported by a scheduled event or strong analog.
Early signal a weak lead indicator, may not develop.
Unsupported speculation we do not publish this as a forecast.
A forecast is not a guarantee. Probabilities are calibrated from scheduled events, observed signals, and modeled analogs to prior fronts. Every forecast is archived and graded on the accuracy page.
